Village of Beiseker – Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO)
Position Summary
The Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO) supports the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) in the day-to-day administration and operation of the Village of Beiseker. This position assists with municipal finances, budgeting, planning and development, human resources, policy development, and corporate projects while helping ensure municipal services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
The ACAO works closely with Council, staff, residents, contractors, developers, and government agencies and may act as the CAO in their absence.
The ACAO reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Key Responsibilities
Administration
- Assist the CAO with the daily operations of the municipality.
- Help implement Council decisions and strategic priorities.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and recommendations for Council and management.
- Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives.
- Act on behalf of the CAO when required.
Finance and Budgeting
- Assist with preparing and managing the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor revenues and expenditures and help maintain financial controls.
- Prepare financial reports and budget updates.
- Assist with audits, grants, and financial planning.
- Support the management of municipal reserves and funding opportunities.
Planning and Development
- Assist with development permits, subdivision applications, and planning matters.
- Work with developers, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Support growth and development initiatives within the community.
- Assist with reviewing and updating planning-related policies and documents.
Human Resources
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
- Support performance management and staff development.
- Help maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive and professional workplace culture.
Policy, Bylaws, and Governance
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating municipal policies and bylaws.
- Ensure compliance with provincial legislation and municipal requirements.
- Support governance and accountability initiatives.
- Research and provide recommendations on municipal issues.
Education and Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Municipal government experience is preferred.
- Local Government Administration certification or equivalent is considered an asset.
Experience
- Experience working in a municipal government environment, or equivalent.
- Experience with accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with planning and development processes.
- Experience in human resources and employee relations.
- Experience preparing reports and recommendations.
- Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.

Compensation
Salary and benefits will be based on qualifications and experience.
