Canadian Pacific Rail Road arrived in Beiseker on March 17, 1910.  A celebration of this event will be held on Sunday, September 12th at 2:00 pm at the Beiseker Station.  Refreshments and entertainment for all ages will be provided.  Come and celebrate the centennial of the trains arrival in Beiseker.  Please bring a lawn chair.

Community Connections, Beiseker School BBQ, Meet the Teacher Night - Thursday, September 16th at Beiseker Community School - 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  Register for the local sports programs, Minor Hockey, Tae Kwon Do, Gymnastics, Scouts, obtain information for organizations, committees and societies, Fire Department, Library, Community Links, Citizens on Patrol, Block Parent Program, 4-H, Boys and Girls Club, Seniors Club, Church activities, etc.  Be sure to check out all that is being offered in and around the Village.  To book your FREE table for your group or business, please call the Village Office at 403 947-3774.  Everyone Welcome.

Beiseker Urban Motorcycle Squad B.U.M.S. -  presents the End of Summer Bummer Motorcycle Poker Run, Saturday, September 18th on Main Street, Beiseker.  Register between 10am - 11am.  Poker Run will leave promptly at 11:30am.  $10 per bike.  Proceeds go to the Beiseker Municipal Library.

Computer Repair Day - Saturday, September 4th from 8am - 5pm at Beiseker Community Hall.  Bring in your sick, slow and broken computers to have them fixed.  $30 minimum plus parts.  For more information or to request parts, call Ted Bullock at 403 383-4420.

Terry Fox Walk/Run - Friday, September 24th sponsored by Beiseker Community School beginning at 1:00 pm.  The run/walk will travel throughout the village.  We encourage everyone to participate - all ages welcome.  Meet at the main entrance of the school prior to 1:00 pm.  Please bring a toonie for Terry.

Arrival of the CPR Station - Plans are underway to move the CPR Station building to Beiseker from Bassano.  The Bassano Station will be the new home of the Beiseker Railway Museum.  Once on site, the station will be restored to its original 1911 appearance and receive a complete makeover that will provide handicap accessibility, washroom facilities, and other improvements needed to conform to modern day building codes.  The renovations will also include a gift shop, waiting room, display and interpretative area.  In addition, there will be a platform and main line track added to the front of the station.  The expected date of arrival is September 13th or 14th.

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS - Village of Beiseker residents wishing to run for Council can pick up nomination forms and information kits at the Village of Beiseker's administration office.  Nomination papers can only be filed on nomination day, Monday, September 20th between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon.  The official election process will start after nomination closes.  Candidates will be announced that day.  Elections will take place on Monday, October 18th from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm with the Advance Poll on Tuesday, October 12th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Village Office.

Candidates interested in running for a seat on Rocky View Schools' Board of Trustees can pick up the information package at the Village of Beiseker or at the Rocky View Education Centre in Airdrie.

Candiates Forum - Monday, October 4th at Beiseker Community Centre - 7:30 pm.  Come out and meet your candidates for council, hear what they have to say and express your concerns.

Community Links P.L.A.Y. Program will run every Tuesday beginning September 14th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.  The program is a drop-in program for children ages 0 - 3 and their parents/caregivers.  Parents/caregivers can take part with their children in a variety of interactive play activities.  Community Links is ;located at #401, 5th Street, Beiseker, #403 947-2841.  www.nrvcl.ab.ca

Boys & Girls Club, in partnership with Community Links, is proud to announce a new program for children and youth in Beiseker.  Kidz Zone will be offered in the community to children and youth ages 6 - 12 years old.  This program will run the first and third Friday of the month starting Friday, October 1st from 2pm - 4:30pm at the Community Links Building - 401, 5th Street, Beiseker.

Village of Beiseker Block Parent Program - Block Parent is a registered charity and Canada's largest volunteer-run child safety organization.  The distinctive red & white Block Parent window sign of a home, tells children, seniors and others that help is at hand if they are lost, frightened, or in distress.  In addition to their safety network, Block Parents offer community education programs to increase the personal safety of children, teens and seniors.  To become a Block Parent or to volunteer for the committee, contact Jess at the Village of Beiseker 403 947-3774 or e-mail .

Beiseker Fire Department - Station 55 News - Our new rescue unit has arrived.  Thanks to Greg Verral and Byron Switzer for flying to Pennsylvania and driving it back!  Thanks also to Korey Barker for the incredible job he did designing and painting the new station sign.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the Beiseker Fire Fighters Association, we meet at the fire station on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm. 

Meet your Fire Department - Chad Schopf is the Fire Chief of Station 55, and has been with the department for 7 years.  He is also an on-call firefighter for Rocky View County.  When not fighting fires, Chad works in the oil and gas industry.  He also enjoys hockey, hunting and the outdoors.  He feels that being part of the fire department gives him the chance to make a difference in his community.  He values the friendships he has made and considers his fellow fire fighters to be his extended family.

As per Traffic/Trailer By-Law #2002-08 please be reminded that detached trailers of any kind are not permitted to be parked on the street for more than 48 hours without authorized approval.

The Village of Beiseker is seeking new members to fill positions on the Economic Development and Tourism Committee.  The goals and objectives of this committee is to promote new and existing businesses in the village, along with a growing residential component.  The goal is to provide for balanced (integrated) industrial, commercial and residential growth while maintaining the definitive lifestyle advantages of a small community.  Both rural and urban residents are invited to sit on this committee.  Please contact Gail at the Village Office.

Village of Beiseker office hours - Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm, closed from 12 noon to 1pm for lunch.  Friday 8am - 12 noon.

The Beiseker Station Museum is working on the history of the businesses and buildings on 6th street.  If anyone has photos of these buildings or information on any past business in these buildings, please contact Iris Balson at 403 947-3920.

Regular Meetings of Council begin at 7:30 pm, every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.  If this date falls on a statutory holiday, the meeting will held the following night.

The Village of Beiseker By-law #2003-13 states that all dogs and cats within the village boundaries must be licensed or will be subject to a fine.

Transfer Station and Recycling Depot Hours - Summer (May  - October) Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat - 10 am - 3 pm. Winter (November - April) Thur, Fri, Sat - 10 am - 3pm.

Transfer Station Fees for Village of Beiseker residents: Fridges, freezers, - $15. Love Seats, chairs - $5. Couches -$10 mattresses/boxsprings - $5 each. There is a $1 charge per bag of household garbage deposited at the Transfer Station. Cars and Trucks can now be disposed of at the Transfer Station. Transfer Station Fees for Wood Bin - Half ton truck load - $50, oversized half ton truck load - $60, half ton truck with trailer - $75. Large loads and waste removal companies must dump at Drumheller Solid Waste Facility.  No asphalt shingles or chemical containers.  Deposits of recyclables - FREE

Please have your garbage out before 8:00 am on Friday mornings. If a holiday falls on a Friday, garbage and recycling will be picked up on Thursday. Limit of three (3) bags.  For extra bags, tags are available at the Village Office for $1.00 each.
